Lovers of Indian food will relish the chance to try Bindi, located in Palma’s bohemian Santa Catalina district, next to the church.
Bindi Indian Restaurant
English, Spanish & German
Owned by Englishwoman Bindu Shah and her Polish business partner Patryk Kusiak, this small restaurant opened in March 2014, and has an unfussy décor, with just a few boho-chic Indian artefacts around the place.
Sit indoors or out on the tables set up outside the church – where you can also enjoy cocktails such as coconut and cinnamon mojito.
Bindi is not a typical British-style curry house, but offers traditional home-made Indian food, based on fresh market produce bought daily, and spices from India, stoneground.
Authentic northern and southern Indian dishes are prepared here. The great-value daily changing lunchtime thali includes starter, choice of three out of four of the day’s curries, rice, puri, dessert and bottle of water.
At night the à la carte menu features mainly southern Indian cuisine, and there are regional ‘specials’ too. Wines are from small bodegas across Spain (8 from Mallorca) and Indian Cobra and Kingfisher beers are available.
We love…. the option to choose the level of spice ‘heat’ for each dish.
