Description
Jaume Mesquida is a family winery with vineyards in Porreres (Mallorca), belonging to the DO Pla i Llevant. It is the only family winery that practises biodynamic agriculture on the island of Mallorca and is distinctive for its respect for the environment and its outstanding wines.
The winery was founded in 1945 by Jaume Mesquida Barceló. In 1992 Jaume Mesquida launched the first sparkling wine made in Mallorca.
In June 2004 the brother-and-sister team of Bàrbara and Jaume Mesquida Mora took up the challenge of continuing the family’s work, signifying the incorporation of the fourth generation of Porreres winemakers.
Wine
Their passion for wine leads the team to experiment constantly, and periodically they try to surprise the public with a new creation. This means that harvest time is a hectic period, because they carry out a large number of vinifications according to the products they want to obtain and the vines of origin. Wines in their range include:
- White: Molí de Vent Blanc, Chardonnay & Bàrbara
- Rosé: Molí de Vent Rosat & Rosat de Rosa
- Red: Molí de Vent Negre, Jaume Mesquida Negre, Cabernet Sauvignon, Maria Esther & Selecció Familiar Sirà
