As the name suggests, this is a beach club that will get you in to the mood – whether its simply lounging by the pool or dancing the night away to salsa beats.
Mood Beach Club
Englsih & Spanish
Mood Beach and Restaurant [it] is celebrating its fifth birthday this month (3rd of August) and is throwing a party like only it can. Virtually ever day of the week has a theme at Mood: Monday nights for the Lounge Music Project; Tuesdays and Thursdays for Mood Nights; Wednesday nights are for Flamenco; and Fridays begin with live music followed by salsa at 11pm. In keeping with this variety, the designer indoor bar changes colour thanks to the lighting.
The club isn’t directly on a beach, though there is one beside it. It boasts a very long terraced dining area overlooking Palma Bay, with yachts and boats anchored in front of it. (This area is remarkably cool on hot days.) Head chef Les Regan from Ireland specialises in fresh fish. Gin-based cocktails are the house speciality and they come in fruit and vegetable-flavoured glasses!
Massages are available at the Oasis Beach, a private ‘beach’ elevated above the sea thanks to some wooden decking and sand. Mood is also child friendly and has a paddle pool.
Lowdown: No cover charge. A sunlounger is €40, which includes orange juice, fruit, use of the pool and showers. For €85, you get the sunlounger, breakfast and lunch. Opening hours are 9am to midnight and till 2am on Fridays and Saturdays. Mood opens all year except January. Reservation advised. There’s plenty of parking. Child friendly.
Verdict: Cool by day, hot by night, Mood is a luxury beach club that has a therapeutic effect on all who walk through its doors.
