Work is being finalised on the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar in Manacor, set to open for the 2016/2017 school year. Students will receive tennis training in the Toni Nadal method, accommodation, and academic schooling at the Rafal Nadal International School.
There will be annual, monthly and weekly programmes, plus a summer camp, with the 10-month option costing 56,000€ a year. Doors open in May.
Boost for families
The Rafa Nadal Foundation also continues to go from strength to strength. Following on from its inauguration at the end of last year, the first independent centre in Palma developed by private non-profit organisation has been continuing its mission to deliver action programmes for socially disadvantaged children and young people.
Currently, the Palma centre, located in Nou Llevant, attends to more than 140 children and their families, using sport as a tool for enriching lives.
