The Consell of Mallorca has decided to name Mallorcan tennis player Rafael Nadal as honorary citizen of Mallorca.
The decision was made unanimously by the different political groups from the Consell.
The Consell sees Nadal as not only as a excellent tennis player and leader, but also as an example of sacrifice, perseverance and humility. They also are giving him this title because of the international projection he gives the Balearic Island while traveling all over the world and making him an ambassador for Mallorca.
