When Jaime Llabrés planted the first French grape varieties, he didn’t want to found a bodega or even sell wine. After the first attempts, he plucked up courage and built a production hall and underlying wine cellar with his own hands near the Mallorcan town of Sencelles. Jaime exudes the spirit of a true winemaker and businessman. Not surprisingly, half his family collaborates in making the Son Prim vision come true. His tall son Jaime Junior, the marketing guy, will travel a lot this year to gain further international experience in winemaking. Business is good.

Investments went into a new production hall, which was recently inaugurated. This was only made possible through strategic investments of a friendly Swiss hotelier. The Swiss seemingly enjoy island wine. The most important and most unconventional decision in 2014 was not to produce rosé or white wine. For Jaime Senior the quality of this vintage is just “too high and why you should we waste these unbelievable grapes?” It may be a wise decision, but certainly for the fans of the Son Prim Blanc de Merlot and Rossats it´s a sad year of abstinence.
Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot & Manto Negro.
Looking at this wine you discover a pure garnet red with delicate violet hues. In the bouquet you sense ripe fruits and a nuance of licorice. Full bodied on the palate with soft tannins and a long finish.
Just delicious! An excellent vintage!

100% Cabernet Sauvignon.
Bright cherry can be found in the glass. With a little air flow, aromas of wild berries, cherries, and herbs arise in the nose. A juicy fruit flavour awaits the palate. Strong and full of taste. In the finish it is again very strong, with a fine spiciness.

Impressive garnet colour in the glass. The fragrant bouquet allures with red berries, herbs, and strong roasted aromas. On the palate, this wine has what you would expect from a great Merlot: Depth, structure, fine tannins, and a perfect balance. The finish is long and persistent.
