
2011 marks the 33rd edition of the renowned Deià International Music Festival, which brings international musicians and artistes to Mallorca each summer to perform in the magical setting of Son Marroig, near Deià, and – in Palma – at Palau March, the home of the Festival’s concerts in the city. Concerts in Deià take place on Thursdays and, in Palma, on Fridays. The Festival’s artistic directors are Alfredo Oyágüez Montero and Patrick Meadows.
Concerts still to come in June are as follows:
Friday, June 10th at 21.00 hrs at Palau March
“Cellobration Series III” featuring Ramón Jaffe (Latvia) on cello, and Alfredo Oyágüez Montero on piano, performing works by Cassado, Debussy, Falla and Chopin.
Thursday, June 16th at 20.30 hrs at Son Marroig
Bertrand Giraud (France) – piano
Programme includes works by Liszt, Prokofiev and Rachmaninov.
Thursday, June 23rd at 20.30 hrs at Son Marroig
Peter Frankl (Hungary/UK) – piano
Programme includes works by Bartok, Beethoven and Schumann.
Thursday, June 30th at 20.30 hrs at Son Marroig
“Jazz in Deià: Antonio Artese Quartet” (Italy)
Tickets for concerts in Deià are 20 € (15 € for members of Alma Concerts, and 10 € for student cardholders). Concerts in Palau March are free, but places are limited and must be reserved in advance by phoning +34 971 71 11 22.
