Way back in 1947, an ordinary man from Alaró graced the town with the construction of a small theatre. Little did he know it at the time, but Bibiloni Bartolome Pizá had planted the seeds of a decades-long architectural love affair on Mallorca, spanning three generations. The building still remains, just as Pizá’s legacy lives on.
Had Antonia and Tomeu Pizá’s beloved grandfather – a gentleman in all respects – been alive to see his humble company of five grow into the 55-strong firm it is today, he would surely have been unspeakably proud.
Under the hand of their father – his own son Matthew Pizà – Biblioni’s grandchildren employed great wisdom to preserve and restore his works, turning them into splendid rural hotels, for example.
The company has come a long way since the day the modest, elegant theatre was completed. To-die-for beach houses, urban marvels and rustic dream homes are delivered with master strokes of architectural expertise, in a relationship of complete trust, confidence and empathy.
Woven through every project 353 Arquitectes take on is a deep-rooted commitment to the high standards embraced by the siblings’ father and grandfather, and to maintaining the reputation for excellence earned by the family firm over more than two-thirds of a century.
It was this talent and heritage that caught the eye of Camper and renowned architectural giant Rafael Moneo, setting the team to work on turning the old Son Fortesa estate in Alaró into the creative headquarters of the global shoe brand.
Nothing is out of the remit of the current young, energetic generation at 353 Arquitectes. Signing a contract with Antonia and Tomeu means you get a service above and beyond your expectations, freeing you from the complexities of Spanish paperwork, but keeping you fully informed and involved at all stages.
During the construction boom, many builders went for quantity over quality, while the Pizás held fast to the philosophy: “Our priority is customer satisfaction with a job well done, regardless, it is our greatest reward and satisfaction well above the economic benefit.” Bibiloni Bartolome Pizá stays smiling down.
