About 49 Steps Bar&Grill
Located in the swanky modern development of Palma’s Moll Vell (old pier), at 49 Steps Bar&Grill you have the choice of a decked terrace restaurant directly overlooking the yacht marina or a rooftop bar with panoramic views that stretch from the iconic cathedral up to the distant hilltop Bellver Castle.
In the restaurant focuses on dishes using top quality meat and fish, with flavours from around the Mediterranean including traditional Spanish cuisine. Behind the eatery is the Galician Grupo Amicalia, with more than 12 years in the business, and six gastronomic projects on the go across three cities – one with a Michelin star.
A Mediterranean menu
Headed up by Alexis Cataldi, a talented chef of over 20 years’ experience, diners can watch their food being prepared in the restaurant’s open show kitchen. The menu has an emphasis on grilled meats and seafood, sourced especially for their excellent quality.
It is, for example, the only place in the Balearic Isles where guests can enjoy what is considered one of the best steaks in the world – the 60-day-aged Finnish ‘chuletón’, which won 1st place in the World Steak Challenge.
Market fresh fish is also served off the grill, while the likes of red tuna tartare, octopus ceviche, and cod carpaccio provide cold options. An impressive choice of paella also features on the menu, together with ‘entre panes’ such as smoked Wagyu brisket, and pulled pork.
