The almond blossom of Mallorca is famous – particularly in Germany, where there is a great appreciation for the natural beauty of the island. By late January until early March the landscape is a sea of white and soft pink and it is a glorious sight, for both residents and visitors to enjoy.
The blossom of the almond tree is certainly in fashion this season and we have taken inspiration from it for our spring fashion shoot on page 64.
We are honoured to have one of the top Spanish models on our cover – Nieves Álvarez, who is a good friend of PR and event organiser Javier Escobar. We find out more about Javier and the many celebrities he has known throughout his interesting career in public relations.
Other interesting personalities interviewed in this edition are Dolores Luque, whose blog receives more than 1,500 visitors per day – meet the fashionista on page 76. Another person making his mark on the virtual world is Joachim Semrau, the owner of real estate network Porta Mallorquina.
Pollensa and Puerto Pollensa are particular favourite places of mine. I have spent many Sunday mornings at the market in Pollensa – probably the most interesting of all the markets, for foreigners who want to browse through local products and bring home something special from the island.
