It is one of the biggest cultural events of the year. It happens in Palma on the third Thursday in September and each year the attendance grows until the streets are heaving with enthusiastic art lovers and the city is truly alive. An impressive lady with a big heritage who I have had the pleasure to entertain in my home recently is Kerry Kennedy, the daughter of Robert F. Kennedy and niece of John F. Kennedy. She is leading a worldwide campaign to educate the young generation of the important role they play in supporting human rights, find out more on page 64. To raise funds for this worthwhile cause there will be a golf outing and gala dinner held on the 28th of September in Golf de Andratx.
Recently I was in Palma on a Saturday morning and noticed that the Borne was packed, for what I discovered was an impromptu concert by the Balearic Symphonic Orchestra and front man, Jaime Anglada had the crowd in his hand. We meet this extraordinarily talented local musician on page 70.
