On the first weekend of February the Fira de la Flor d’Ametler takes place in the historic finca of Ca S’Hereu (Son Servera).
What to expect
Mallorcan almonds are said to be the best in the world, and the almond blossom is a major attraction for winter visitors to the island. Around five million almond trees grow across Mallorca and, from late January, their delicately scented pink and white blossom adds a special beauty to the landscape. In the town of Son Servera, in the east, you can visit an almond-themed fair coinciding with blossom time on the island.
The Fira de la flor d’ametler is held in February in the grounds of Ses Cases de Ca s’Hereu, a finca in the town of Son Servera dating from the 18th century.
The fair offers a large number of stalls selling a variety of products made from almonds, almond wood, and the blossom itself. You’ll see displays of equipment used to harvest and prepare almonds, and enjoy traditional folk music played by strolling musicians.
Entry to the fair is free. Open from 9:30 – 14:30hrs.
