Following the terrorist attacks in Barcelona in August, Palma town hall has taken further precautions to stop vehicle-based strikes in the Casco Antiguo. Cement bollards were added to Plaça Porta Pintada and at the end of Calle San Miguel where it joins Plaça Espanya, as well as on the approach to Playa de Palma from the city.
Large planters have also been added to Calle des Oms and Des Born.
