This popular Palma restaurant offers a delicious fusion of Mediterranean and Asian cuisine. Chef Tomeu Martí developed his Asian culinary skills during time spent working in Tokyo, and opened Arume in 2006. Culinary influences from Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and elsewhere are combined with Mediterranean ingredients and techniques, resulting in innovative and memorable dishes.
Arume Restaurant & Sushi Bar
Arume is open for lunch and dinner, and offers a weekly-changing set lunchtime menu, Mondays to Fridays. Try their two new tasting menus, enabling you to experience the variety of flavours and textures in their star dishes. Tasting menus change monthly, and we recommend the seven-plate Menu Arume or the 10-plate Golden Menu.
For dinner, try the delicate prawn and sea urchin parcels in tempura, and the dim sum of duck, foie and shiitake mushrooms. The variation of hosomakis – a 16 piece showcase of maki rolls – is a chance to savour umami transitions in taste in the innovative rolls. The chef specializes in the cuisines of Asia and integrates Spanish traditional ingredients such as jamón ibérico and Mallorcan goat cheeses, resulting in fresh new flavours. The wine and sake menu is extensive and sophisticated. A dessert menu offers traditional favourites like green tea ice cream alongside drunken chocolate cake with warm white chocolate soup.
The restaurant is conveniently located near underground public car parking, and just a short walk from Palma’s Intermodal Station. Situated off the pedestrian shopping street, Calle de Sant Miguel, the neighborhood is bustling and vibrant.
Arume seats approximately 65 diners and the upper-floor dining area is suitable for private gatherings of around 20. Newly renovated, the décor in the narrow cosy space is modern and chic, with an open show kitchen which allows diners to watch the artistic knife skills and creative presentation behind the scenes.
Sushi fans will also enjoy a visit to Arume’s Sushi Bar in Santa Catalina market, where you can sip a Japanese beer while watching your food being prepared to order.
