Consell forms part of the Binissalem Denomination of Origin region, where wine culture was introduced by Roman civilisations. The wines from this area have a distinctive character thanks to their native Mallorcan grapes, although today’s modern wines area also blended with varieties from abroad.
The autumn wine fair in Consell is a mixture of artisanal and agricultural produce, and is the perfect place to find wine tasting courses, local exhibitions and cooking shows. This year will be its 23rd consecutive year running and promises a stand-out programme of events.
On Friday 18th there will be an opening of several art exhibitions and from 8:30pm in Plaza Mayor there will local cuisine and live music.
On Saturday 19th, the third children’s autumn fair will be held with workshops, parades, bouncy castles and games. In the afternoon, Plaza Mayor will come alive once again with a fashion show, photography contest and Zumba class. Later, the square will come alive with the Correfocs which can only mean one thing: fire, music and lots of dancing.
Sunday 20th is considered the main day for the autumn wine fair where there will be exhibitions, a horse show and the batucada (band of drummers). At 6pm the final party will kick off.
