According to research published by online retail website Ofertia.com, the Balearic Islands are in the bottom three Spanish regions for responsibility towards environmental issues.
The report, produced for the annual Earth Day event held 22nd of April, looked into a number of day-to-day activities like recycling bags for grocery shopping, checking brand sustainability and buying local products.
Assigning a 1-10 score for “commitment to the environment”, Murcia was the best in Spain with a 7.84, followed by the Canaries and Basque Country.
The Balearics were third-from-last, receiving a vote of 6.92, with Galicia (6.89) and Navarre (6.58) below the islands.
