Mallorca’s southwest is home to some of the most popular tourist destinations, with a wide variety of resorts along the coast offering an abundance of restaurants – with something for every budget and taste.
For a helping of maritime magnificence as you eat, head for the jet-set favourite, Puerto Portals, or the swanky superyacht marina of Port Adriano – both these eating-out hotspots offer a host of restaurants with views of gleaming motorboats and yachts. Port d’Andratx – despite having plenty of restaurants – has surprisingly few that actually stand out.

Restaurants by the Water
Eating close to water is a must for many visiting Mallorca and the Argentinain-owned restaurant, 7fuegos, which overlooks the Club Náutico in Santa Ponsa ticks that box with style. As does Restaurant Villa Italia in the 4-star Hotel Villa Italia in Port d’Andratx, whose elevated position means that the views over the harbour are unbeatable and, being at the quieter end of the port, the restaurant feels less frenetic than some of the more-central roadside eateries. Between the Mediterranean views and the enticing menu, Purobeach Illetas, shows its talent with seaside dining. The large, spacious eating area is designed in true Puro fashion, with everything über-cool and white. Nikki Beach, located in the newly renovated area of Magaluf, is the place to eat and drink with a group of 10-20 friends for fun and to enjoy the party atmosphere and glamour of the Nikki Beach brand. To be sure of eating at Sumailla, it’s best to book two or three days ahead. The restaurant’s popularity isn’t only because the waterfront terrace offers gorgeous views, but it is also clearly due to chef Mauricio Farinola, who has earned a reputation as one of Mallorca’s best sushi chefs. Located along the glamorous, second line boardwalk of Puerto Portals, Mahal Tandoori Indian Restaurant offers you a new opportunity to indulge in the colourful cuisine of India. Even closer to the port’s upscale marina is Lucy Wang, offering high-end sushi and creative Japanese cooking.
