The first house at the entrance of Biniali village stands out for its exceptional rural architecture. One would not expect this to be one of the finest wineries of Mallorca. Here three brothers of the famous Batle winemaking dynasty have their workshop. The trio could not be more different. One of them is a charismatic bank manager and the ‘distribution brain’ of the bodega, another a creative winemaker and oenologist, and the third, a silent computer genius and self-made technician.
Perhaps this symbiosis of three characters is the source of the immense power of Bodega Binigrau. Success pours in from all around the world, like a heavy summer rain. But the Batle brothers don’t care too much. You will love their humility and modesty. Cooking and eating a freshly caught fish together is more important to them than certificates and awards. Other wineries would broadcast at every opportunity that US wine guru Robert Parker awarded the 2013 Nounat with a sensational 95 out of 100 points.
An island wine with such an outstanding quality would have been unthinkable years ago. The price of 11 euros makes it even more remarkable. The greatest praise for them is their own father walking through the vines with a joyful gleam in his eyes, admiring the work of his sons.
Prensal & Chardonnay.
The golden Nounat shimmers seductively in the glass. Aromas are of ripe fruit and lavender honey. A multi-track sensation for the palate. The delicate aromas spread rapidly within the mouth and fill it with an incredible blend of flavours.
Robert Parker gave it 95 out of 100 points. Absolutely right!
Callet, Manto Negro, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Syrah.
Dark cherry red with purple rim. The range of flavours in the bouquet quickly spreads from ripe fruit to toasty barrel notes. A culinary extravaganza with fine tannins, plenty of fruit and everything well balanced. The long finish makes the wine perfect.
A wine that will accompany us for many years to come…
Eco Rosat 2013
Manto Negro & Merlot.
In the glass this Eco Rosat 2013 shimmers attractively as an alluring rosé. Reflections of purple can be seen. Aromas of wild berries find their way. The freshness of the fruit has a presence until the finish.
Great rosé, not only for the organic movement.
