Within the Swiss-owned Livingdreams store, on the main street of the small town of Santa Maria del Camí, Restaurant 19 by Livingdreams serves lunch and dinner in a choice of settings. When weather permits you’ll want to eat outside: either on the front terrace, watching the world go by – or in the beautiful large garden, cocooned from the world. In this tranquil al fresco setting there’s a choice of terraces (one is elevated, offering even lovelier garden views). Indoors, the restaurant’s décor complements the look of the stylish furniture and interiors store. At night, sit at white-linen-clad tables in the intimate bodega.
Chef Jhon Garton‘s menu menu is separated between contemporary tapas, starters, salads, fish and meat dishes, wok and pasta dishes, and Restaurant 19 classics. The latter include ‘flammkuchen’ – a type of French pizza from Alsace, with an ultra-thin base – which makes a delicious and not-too-naughty lunch.
Vegetarians and vegans have a choice of tempting dishes, including an ecological tofu ‘hamburger’. Helpfully, for diners with food allergies or intolerances, each dish is annotated with a code to show possible allergens.
For a lighter bite, from the tapas and starters menu, we can recommend the chef’s home-made ‘croquetas’; the Iberian ham from Salamanca, served with Mallorcan almonds and the famous Quelitas biscuits from Inca, and the ceviche ‘Nikkei’.
Save some space for a dessert. White chocolate and lime ganache, apple strudel, strawberries with a peppery twist, or one of the delicious homemade cakes will provide the perfect sweet ending to your meal here
