Blue Flags are recognition of water quality, environmental management, safety and services, and environmental education and information across beaches and marinas.
Despite the Balearic Islands as a whole receiving less than last year, Mallorca has received recognition with three new Blue Flags. Two have been given to the beautiful beaches of Sant Elm and Camp de Mar in Andratx and the third has been awarded to the Sailing Club in Port Andratx.
Of the 46 awarded across the Balearic Islands, Mallorca has 31. Blue Flag recognition is not only great for tourism but it also means that Mallorca´s beaches are being looked after for the locals all year round.
