Its name means good table in Mallorcan. For some 20 years, this restaurant – owned by a Mallorcan and an American – in a side street in the village of Calonge, not far from Santanyí, has built up a very loyal clientele of local and international diners.
The cuisine is mainly Mallorcan, with some Spanish dishes, and includes meats, and fish and seafood. The menu doesn’t change: it doesn’t need to. Meat dishes, grilled over the open fire, are recommended and many fans rave about the steaks here.
Presentation is unfussy but the cooking is good, the portions very generous, and the service warm and friendly. Indoors, the décor is simple and Mallorcan in style, and there’s also a very pleasant courtyard at the back, where vines grow overhead and help create that desired Mediterranean ambience during the warmer months.
