The original Cala Cornills restaurant beside the sea (as described below) is now closed. The same owners opened a new restaurant in the town of Sant Elm serving similar food.
This seasonal restaurant (open March to October) in the tucked-away picturesque cove of Sant Elm has been in the same family for 35 years, and began life as a fishermen’s bar. It’s a little difficult to find, so look out for the small sign near an apartment building.
The superb water’s edge position on a promontory and the views from here – which include the island of Sa Dragonera – make it a dream location and particularly popular lunch spot for those on yachts. A swimming pool and sunbeds add to this restaurant’s enduring appeal. If you haven’t visited for a while, you’ll now find a smarter look to the place, with teak chairs and tables (cloth-clad). Although it seats more than 150 people, it’s best to reserve a table, especially at weekends.
Cala Conills specialises in fish and seafood – bought daily from nearby Puerto Andratx. There’s a good variety of fish from which to choose, but the sea bass baked in salt is always a good choice for a real flavour of the Mediterranean. There are also meat dishes and a children’s menu.
