A17th-century manor house in the appealing old town of Alcúdia is the location of this characterful hotel. Carefully restored to preserve traditional architectural features such as the local stone arch and the Gothic and Art Nouveau staircases, the building has heaps of homely charm. The six individually named and decorated rooms are very spacious and include two on the ground floor (ideal if stairs are a problem), one in the attic (with windows in the sloping ceiling) and the top-floor deluxe double superior, Sa Talaia.
The latter has the advantage of a private outdoor terrace with view, king-sized bed and designer bathroom. Guests can relax in the hotel’s living room, decorated with contemporary art by local artists, or enjoy the delightful patio, offering both sun and shade (from an old cypress tree).
There’s no restaurant here, but they do serve a typical Continental breakfast – either in the dining room or on the traditionally Mallorcan pebbled patio, where there are plants and flowers. The helpful hotel owners run the hotel and clearly understand the meaning of hospitality.
We Love…the owners’ commitment to a more environmentally friendly hotel, using solar panels and their recycling scheme.
Why you should stay here…room rates are very reasonable for the quality of this hotel.
Good to Know. Public parking is available just outside the city walls.
