This cosy Italian restaurant and bar – open daily except Mondays – is a family business: mamma (Fabrizia Giannandrea) is in the kitchen creating the tasty food; her two sons and a nephew run front of house, with plenty of Italian spirit and warm hospitality.
It feels like you’re being welcomed into their home. A small place (with some tables upstairs, and separate room for private parties), it’s attractively decorated with rustic-chic touches.
Pavement tables are available during fine weather. The day’s menu of around 20 dishes is chalked up on the blackboard by the entrance.
One of the guys comes to explain each one – making them all sound so good the choice becomes even harder! Fresh market produce is used to create Italian cuisine with Mallorcan influences.
On our last visit we tried fried anchovies (served in a cocktail glass with good tartare sauce and a sprouted seed salad), chicken spring rolls with green salad leaves, and popular Italian/Mallorcan fusion dish ‘La parmigiana’, made from layered slices of aubergine with tomato sauce and cheese. On Sundays they serve a buffet-style brunch.
We love…. the welcoming homely ambience. And the barman’s moustache!
