Thousands of wine lovers travel to La Rioja every year and not just because of the well-known wines, but also the spectacular architecture. This fact inspired the family Morey-Garau, owner of the famous Bodega Túnel. They created the new bodega Tianna Negre which has the added interest of its contemporary architecture. It’s not only the impressive architecture of the winery that makes it worth a visit, but also the quality of their wines. They are nationally and internationally at the top level.

The bodega’s history may be short, but manual labour in the vineyard, environmental management, professional technology, energy awareness, and a fine palate are all contributing to the creation of the wines. So it is not surprising that the family Morey-Garau hired sommelier and restaurant connoisseur Patrick Paulen. The idea of the ‘Vélorosés’ must be attributed to him. “A 100% Mantonegro, without anything else in there. I did not want a heavy Spanish rosé, but something new, lightweight,” says Patrick. The production is delicate and so the first attempt failed. Only in 2011, was a considerable amount of wine – 2000 litres – produced. Success proved him right.
95% of Bodega Tianna Negre wines are consumed on the island.
Bocchoris blanc 2014
Sauvignon Blanc, Prensal Blanc & Chardonnay.
Glittering golden colours show the top-quality wine. The animating bouquet balances flavours between fruity notes (ripe pear and pineapple) and roasted aromas of oak barrel. On the palate it shows up with a supple body and a long joyful aftertaste.
Always a perfect choice, as perfectly made.
Ses Nines Seleccio 07/9 2013
58% Manto Negro, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, 17% Callet, 4% Syrah, 3% Merlot.
Intense garnet colours of an excellent wine. Massive bouquet with aromas of blueberries, raspberries, cassis, and coffee. A wine that inspires the nose. It continues on the palate with plenty of power and expression. Perfectly integrated tannins. The long aftertaste is the perfect finale.
Here a red shows its full strength.
Ses Nines Negre 2013
Manto Negro, Syrah & Callet.
The wine body glows in cherry red. The bouquet melts away: a seduction with red fruits and spices. On the palate it is powerful and keeps on enchanting with red fruit. The finale is a hint of wild berries.
Excellent melange of great grape varieties.
