Once upon a time there were three young men – Carlos Barandiariaín, Enzo Cominetti, and Rafael Nadal – who loved good food and worked together at the Hotel Son Julia in Llucmajor.
They went their separate ways but reunited at the end of 2012 to create this attractive restaurant in Palma, where Carlos and Rafa are in the kitchen. Enzo was the maître d’ until June 2016, when he left for a new adventure.
The ambience is relaxed, with interior décor including a host of interesting objects inherited by the owners. The rear courtyard garden, with palms and bougainvillea, is a hidden oasis.
Claxon opens from 13:00-16:00h Monday-Saturday, but dinner is available only Thursday-Saturday from 20:00 onwards. It offers a weekly changing lunch menu (with express option), and à la carte menu for nights when dinner is served.
The cuisine is Mediterranean with international touches and based on fresh market produce. The à la carte menu changes seasonally, but one dessert has become a signature dish: Carlos and Rafael’s creative Ferrero Cup – a milk chocolate mousse with Nutella, caramel-coated almonds, and wafers.
New from 2015 was the option to also feed your four-legged friends while you´re having lunch or dinner as Claxon offers a menu for dogs as well.
Claxon is fun, welcoming and serves great food.
We love… sitting in the courtyard garden and forgetting about the bustle of the city.
