Hotel Cort’s restaurant is a must-visit on Palma’s iconic square, Plaza Cort.
Spanish, English and German
Lázaro Rosa-Violán – the renowned Barcelona designer behind the city’s Tast Club – created the stylish interior here, with its attractive tiled floors, black and white wall tiles, wooden panels, some curved banquette seating and ceilings of Mallorcan blue-and-white ‘cloth of tongues’.
Hotel Cort is owned by Ramón Andreu (Tast Group) and the Swedish owners of Hotel Tres (La Lonja).
Head chef Hernán Doméstico and his brigade create the dishes for their menu of Mediterranean cuisine, mixed with international flavours and dishes – particularly in their Raw Bar which offers oysters, tartars and ceviches.
There are salads, snacks (some offered in two sizes), pastas, and meat and fish dishes. The complimentary appetizer (ours was crab salad on toast) makes a promising start. Well-presented dishes we enjoyed included oregano-dressed baked goat’s cheese on roasted tomatoes with black olives.
There are Mallorcan wines, Spanish and international. Service is slick and friendly and led by food and beverage manager Nuria Casas. Recommendations include sharing a few dishes (so you can try more) – and making a table reservation.
We love… going with friends so we can share several dishes.
