El Real Club Náutico of Palma collects more than 300 liters of milk for Mediterranean NGO´s
The Escuela de Mar of the Real Club Náutico of Palma has collected 300 liters of milk for families with financial problems. The delivery of this food is channeled through the NGO Mediterránea, leading the campaign “This is milk”.
The RCNP joined this campaign earlier in July, coinciding with the start of the courses of the Escuela de Mar, which every week includes the participation of more than one hundred children aged between 5 and 12 years.
The young sailing apprentices have placed the bottles or milk packages at a “collection point” created by the club, which has been collected weekly by the NGO Mediterránea for distribution among families that now can not meet their basic needs.
The RCNP plans to continue working with this campaign throughout the summer and will continue to encourage partners to join this good cause.
With permanent and continuous support, Mediterránea wants to ensure the supply of the RDA (recommended daily allowance) of milk to all families with children who can not cope with this need.
Mediterránea has awarded 91,000 liters of milk each year to families with children and another 9000 liters through organizations ‘sisters’ in places like Sa Pobla, Santa Maria or Palmanova.
Specifically in Sa Pobla, one of the municipalities that focuses its activities on supporting children, has gained help from 300 children aged between 0 and 16 years, to 505 current.
