A hideaway finca amidst lofty pine trees has been the home of Elvira and Peter Urbach’s enchanting rural restaurant (serving dinner only) for a decade.
Elvira’s artistic touch is evident in the décor of the interior and pretty garden, with its romantic ambience. Elvira oversees front of the house, while husband Peter is the chef. The mainly Mediterranean cuisine with Asian hints is also influenced by the couple’s winter travels abroad. The menu is refreshed regularly, retaining a few favourites, such as pear carpaccio topped with grilled goat´s cheese. Table reservation recommended.
What are you hoping your clients feel when eating your food?
We would be pleased if our customers still remember our food a year later. We want to achieve an extraordinary taste experience and surprise our guests.
What do you think makes a restaurant successful?
We believe that you have to offer a complete package: a sense of wellbeing through a pleasant atmosphere with cosy lighting. Friendly and attentive staff that shows that they like what they are doing. And obviously, last but not least, a cuisine based on always-fresh, high-quality produce – because the PRODUCT is the best chef! You will never be able to eat a good tomato salad made from a tomato without flavour, regardless of how good the chef is.
On a night off, where is your favourite place on Mallorca to eat?
We love the variety of restaurants on the island. Every year there are new discoveries. We like going to our friends who own the restaurant Fusion in Es Llombards.
What are your thoughts about the restaurant scene on Mallorca?
It´s hard to find any other place in the world where so many varied and good restaurants exist!
