Mallorca stars in this year’s edition of the Estrella Damm beer advert. In the trailer, you will recognise some shots taken in Banyalbufar and Hotel Hospedes Maricel & Spa in Cas Catalá.
The Spanish beer brand Estrella Damm, whose summer Mediterranean themed television commercials have become as famous as their songs are catchy, is about to launch this year’s edition of what has become THE advert of the summer season in Spain.
The “Mediterraneamente” series began in Formentera in 2009, when the beer brand decided to showcase the beauty of the island in order to promote their beer as the drink of choice for beachgoers everywhere. The advert was so attractively put together that Formentera registered renewed interest as an idyllic holiday destination, to say nothing of the number of Estrella Damm beers sold that summer.
The complete short film will be launched on the 7th of june, 2016 at: http://www.estrelladamm.com/es/

About the advert “Serra de Tramuntana”
The Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage site by UNESCO, stars in this year’s edition of the Estrella Damm beer advert.
The advert was followed a year later with one shot in Menorca, with a similar story line involving young love, parties in the sand and swimming in crystal clear waters, always with a bottle of said chilled beer in hand. In 2011, Mallorca residents expected to be next, but the Estrella team instead chose the coats of Catalonia, incorporating famous Chef Ferrá Adrià and his cookery school into their storyline.
It was therefore with great anticipation and pleasure that Mallorca received the news that this year, Estrella Damm had chosen to film its commercial here on the island. The advert, which lasts well over 3 minutes, is set in Banyalbufar, Cala Deià, and Sa Calobra and begins with a view of the coast of the Serra de Tramuntana. The clubs and bars of Magaluf are a far cry from the Mallorca seen in this advert; instead we see a Mallorca steeped in traditional fiestas, with families enjoying meals together and beautiful views of the mountains and secluded bays -there is of course the obligatory love story, but this time the protagonist is as much in love with the island of Mallorca as he is with the beautiful girl.
