Celebrated in Santa Ponsa the ‘Festes del Rei en Jaume’ is a fun-packed fiestas marking the landing of Jaime I at Santa Ponça in 1229 and was the beginning of the reconquest of the island from the Moors.
What to expect
There’s a varied programme of cultural, traditional and leisure events, including a parade of giants, ‘nit de foc’ (night of fire), and the loud and lively Moors and Christians’ battle re-enactment.
The festival takes place in the town of Santa Ponsa in the southwest of Mallorca.
