The Son Real Estate is a traditional Mallorcan ‘possessió’ within the Bay of Alcúdia, in the municipality of Santa Margalida located between Son Serra de Marina and Can Picafort. It is made up of 395 hectares of agricultural land, pine-covered hills, natural beaches and coastal dunes. The houses on the estate date back to the middle ages. There’s a workers’ cottages, a courtyard, a defence tower and a chapel. Today it’s owned by the Regional Government of the Balearic Islands.

There is a small visiting centre at the manor with an archaeological museum, a yard with free-range native farm animals, and a pleasant picnic area. The most popular thing to do here is explore the natural surroundings. This can be done on foot or by bike. Bikes are available for hire.
Visit the archaeological sites at S’Illot des Porros and Punta des Fenicis not more than 4 km from the manor house. There are remains of a pre-Talaiotic town and a Talaiotic cemetery. The four hiking routes are sign-posted.
The Son Real Information Centre is open every day of the week from 9.00 to 16.00. The archaeological museum which costs €3 is open from 9.30 – 15.30.
