The ‘Fira de ses Herbes’ takes place in the village of Selva, near Inca, with most of the activity in the attractive main square, where colourful stalls are set up.
Anything that can be made with herbs – from soaps to liquers – can be found at this weekend-long event.
Sunday sees a bizarre procession of the ‘myrtle’ plant, when the shrub is harvested in lands adjacent to the village and is brought in to the village square accompanied by ‘xeremiers‘ (mallorcan bagpipes) at 10am.
The plant is then distlled to produce a liqueur – with much rejoicing!
The fair starts at 07.30 and finishes at around 15.00 h.
