About Hotel El Coto
Situated in Colonia de Sant Jordi on Mallorca‘s sunny south-east coast, Hotel El Coto is a 4.5 star boutique stay very close to the beach – and what a beach it is! Es Trenc is famed for its Caribbean looks, a gorgeous sweep of white sand and turquoise waters stretching for more than two kilometres. Guests enjoy a pleasant easy walk to this, and other lovely spots, directly from the hotel.
The appeal of this upmarket hotel, however, is not limited to its prime position near one of Mallorca’s top beaches. Situated in front of the shimmering Ses Salines salt lakes, the El Coto building is Mediterranean in style, with extensive terraces and a palm-and-pine filled garden. All 50 rooms – ranging from standard and comfort to superior and suite options, are elegant and very well appointed, and each with a private balcony or terrace.
Food & drink
The hotel’s restaurant presents a delightful menu of nouvelle cuisine, and a huge selection of more than 400 Spanish wines from the hotel’s very own bountiful wine cellar. Wine tasting weeks are a speciality, and there are tasting events taking place throughout the year.
Guests have the option of taking their plentiful buffet breakfast out on the elegant terrace, also a wonderful place to have a leisurely à la carte lunch or dinner, the latter set to romantic lighting.

Activities on offer
The hotel itself has a spacious heated outdoor pool, with loungers, towels, a children’s area, and an outdoor bar. For the more serious swimmer, the Olympic-size Best Swim Centre in Colonia de Sant Jordi is hard to beat. You can also opt to enjoy tennis, hiking, yoga, massage and beauty treatments, organised by hotel staff.
Cycling in the area is excellent: there is bike rental available nearby, and a secure bike storage room within the hotel.
As stated, Hotel El Coto enjoys a great location steps away from heavenly beaches, but there is plenty more to delight in the surrounding area. The former fishing village of Colonia de Sant Jordi preserves its original charm, with a pretty marina, and watersports – from swimming and sailing to surfing and snorkelling – abound.
A little piece of paradise, Cabrera Island can be reached by boat from the town harbour, and is a must do if staying in the area.
