Designed in the style of a Mediterranean village and built cascading down the side of a steep hill, this upscale holiday complex scores high on both setting and looks. But it’s the views over the picturesque bay that really make it special, which can be soaked up from numerous vantage points including each and every one of its apartment-style suites.
Add an outstanding restaurant, quality spa facilities, and popular beach within walking distance, and it makes for a genuinely top-notch hotel with broad appeal.
The Cabau Bahía Camp de Mar Suites occupies a privileged hillside position overlooking the glorious Camp de Mar bay on the island’s southwest coast. It’s less than 10 minutes’ walk down to the resort’s sandy beach, though access to the sea is possible closer by along the rocky coastline in between. From Palma airport it is around half an hour by car, and the same into the Mallorcan capital.

Relax & enjoy
This hotel has everything you might expect from a four-star resort property including, of course, a swimming pool with great views over the bay. The vistas can also be enjoyed from the poolside Jacuzzi, as well as from the pool terrace’s ample loungers or a strip of semi-shaded lawn adjacent. Wild goats can often be seen in neighbouring woodland. A spa is open to all, with a heated pool (with integrated aqua-massage section), sauna, thermal loungers and massage treatment rooms.
There are 65 apartments in all, spread across eight blocks and divided into three types. The updated Junior Suites are open plan, and perfect for couples, with a centrally positioned bed from where you can enjoy the lovely sea views. The other two types vary according to their proximity to the sea, but all open to spacious terraces with wonderful sea views. Well-equipped kitchenettes come as standard, while upgrade extras include fluffy bathrobes and deluxe coffee machines. All accommodation is due for a swish makeover for 2020 season.
Eat & drink
The hotel can boast one of the best restaurants in the region, with Flor de Sal, by the acclaimed chef Jonay Hernández. Opening for lunch and dinner, the menu is a wonderfully creative mix of Mediterranean and Canarian cuisine, accompanied by lovely sea views.
For breakfast, a separate dining room offers a good quality, varied buffet. It also opens for buffet dinner, with twice weekly themes of Mallorcan and Mexican cooking. Drinks are also served by the pool throughout the day.
