About Japo Santa Catalina
Formerly a fast-food sushi bar, Japo has transformed into a quality restaurant with a focus on both traditional and innovative Japanese cooking, while adding touches of the Mediterranean throughout its extensive menu. Dishes are prepared with the finest ingredients, and beautifully presented, matching the eatery’s cool Japanese-style interiors.
Not only is it located in the centre of Palma’s trendy Santa Catalina neighbourhood, but on one of its buzziest roads, Carrer de Sant Magí, one of the most popular nightlife areas in the Mallorcan capital.
Innovative Asian menu
At the helm is Spanish chef Alberto Garcia, who expertly prepares a range of Asian-style gastronomy, much of it centred around top-quality raw fish, from sushi and sashimi, to seafood tartar and the trendy Hawaiian poke. There’s also an excellent and extensive range of rolls, from Californian to carpaccio. For those wanting something hot and meaty, there’s the 100% Kobe beef burger, including a Surf & Turf option with soft shell crab or the indulgent Truffle & Foie.
The aim at Japo is to create dishes that are beyond the norm, bursting with flavour, from super fresh ingredients, and a colourful fusion of Eastern and Mediterranean cuisine.
