Set high on the cliffs surrounding the horseshoe bay of Sóller with views to the sea and the dramatic Tramuntana Mountains that surround it, the Jumeirah Port Sóller Hotel & Spa offers an indulgent and relaxing stay.
Part of the Emirati-owned Jumeirah Group that boasts an impressive portfolio of hotels around the globe, this hotel in Port de Sóller continues the standard of opulence that has become synonymous with this chain and blends perfectly into its cliff-side location.
Set atop the cliffs on the outskirts of Sóller, guests can take in the amazing panorama from within the hotel grounds of the beautiful Port of Sóller, the small sandy beach, Playa d’en Repic, and the Tramuntana Mountains. A 20-minute walk will take you down the hill into the port itself and a shuttle bus is provided by the hotel.
Relax & enjoy
Comprising of 11 low-rise modern white buildings nestled into the hillside, the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel is felt upon entering the lobby and guests are greeted with a refreshing cool towel and a glass of freshly-pressed Sóller orange juice.
The Talise Spa takes lead from its namesake at the world-famous Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai and invites guests to completely immerse in the relaxing facilities and award-winning treatments. The spa has 10 treatment rooms, a sauna, a full thermal circuit, hydro-pool and a traditional Arabic hammam. Two swimming pools claim the outdoor space – an infinity pool for adults and a family-friendly larger pool for the kids to enjoy.
With 121 rooms (of which 26 are suites and junior suites), each is decorated in a neutral palette of beige and stone with dark wood furnishings and large comfortable beds. All of the rooms boast either full sea or mountain views and have terraces or balconies from which to enjoy them. Guests will find a selection of complimentary Mallorcan products when they check in, including wine, olive oil and Sóller oranges. The marble bathrooms have large walk-in showers, a bath, twin sinks and are stocked with high-end Natura Bissé products.
Eat & drink
The Jumeirah Port Sóller is home to three restaurants: Cap Roig, Es Fanals and the Sunset Sushi lounge, each serving something different.
Cap Roig, named after the local Scorpion fish, serves fresh seafood, prime cuts of meat and a selection of finely prepared local dishes on its à la carte menu on the large outdoor terrace with uninterrupted sea views. Be sure to try the sweet red prawns, and octopus a feira which is so fresh you can taste the sea!
Es Fanals is the more casual, yet no less impressive, dining option with tasty snacks and tapas.
The Sunset Sushi Lounge has a laidback vibe and entices diners with snacks, sushi and plenty of signature drinks such as the passion fruit and vodka cocktail that seems to be very popular, and is one of the best places to take in the gorgeous sunset over the bay.
Breakfast comprises an elaborate buffet with continental options, cereals and plenty of freshly-squeezed juices, plus crepes, omelettes and pancakes are made on request.
Close to the hotel
The picturesque Port of Sóller is a 20-minute walk away and from here it is recommended to hop on the quaint wooden tram that goes into the historical centre of the village of Sóller. Beautiful old buildings, traditional restaurants and shops, and a lively market are the highlights of the village, or for something more active head into the Tramuntana Mountains for a hike and incredible views.
