About KATAGI Blau
KATAGI Blau is a rooftop bar in which to enjoy the Mallorcan sunset this summer. Facing directly west on Avenida America, on the 7th floor above Hotel Llaut Place in Playa de Palma, the bar and restaurant offers views over all of Palma Bay.
Chef Gunnar Blischke serves Asian fusion-style dishes, using locally sourced products, from 13:00 to 23:00hrs.
The cuisine at KATAGI Blau
As mentioned above, Gunnar Blischke’s style is Asian fusion, but the chief ingredients are locally sourced. The menu is only set for a week, sometimes even for as little as four days. This is because Blischke’s tailors his offering depending on the season and the quality of the produce he finds in the search of quality and freshness.
Below is a sample of a recent weekly menu:
For starters, Green envidian salad and hazelnut with coriander, cucumber or garbanzo; this is followed by two main dishes, either chicken tandoori with quinoa, yoghurt or soya or, for vegetarians, vegetable ramen with yaki soba, egg, nori or vegetables. Finally, the menu strongly favours fruit for dessert, with a choice of mango icecream, grilled pineapple or cinnamon crumble.
Events at KATAGI Blau
The chill-out bar isn’t just for meals: signature cocktails are served through the day and on Friday evenings KATAGI Blau holds its Sunset Session, starting at 21:00, featuring soulful happy house and nu-disco sounds until the music winds down at around 01:00hrs.
The restaurant is divided into three different areas: through the whole day a lounge bar is the central focus, and later in the evening this gives way an after dinner late bar, while the restaurant, which features three teppanyaki grills, is open at meal times.
