Located in Palma’s La Lonja district, and one of the oldest and best-known tapas restaurants on Mallorca, La Bóveda oozes character and offers an amazing atmosphere with the experienced waiters providing much of the entertainment, at both lunch and dinner times.
At the front of the restaurant you can sit at the bar and enjoy the interaction of the waiters, or place yourself strategically by one of the wine barrels which form occasional tables and watch the flow of traffic (mainly tourists) through the restaurants. At the back there is a seated area in a vault-like room with a low curved ceiling.
Here is the ideal place to try some authentic traditional Spanish tapas: La Bóveda is famous for its aged ‘jamones ibéricos’ (Iberian ham) and favourite dishes such as ‘pa amb oli’ – bread with olive oil rubbed with tomato, white bean stew, ‘pimientos de Padrón’, garlic prawns, ‘croquetas’ or ‘patatas bravas’. Portion sizes are good, and the service is speedy.
Order a bottle of local wine and toast to the Spaniards for their cuisine. ¡Salud!
We love… the lively ambience.
