About La Gritta
La Gritta is a spacious and typically Mediterranean restaurant situated on the outskirts of the seaside town of Peguera. Thanks to its elevated position, it enjoys spectacular sea views from its terrace, secluded balcony and interior window seats.
New owners Tomeu López and his wife, Antonia, are an experienced duo with 15 years in the industry, and have already proved their know-how with their successful restaurant La Mémé in Palma. La Gritta may have been around for 40 years, but with an updated outlook and brand new menu, it is set to make a fresh mark on Mallorca‘s gastronomic scene.
A full Mediterranean experience is what La Gritta promises. The cuisine is unquestionably Mediterranean, beautifully-presented, and brings authentic flavours of the island to the table. High-quality and, where possible, local produce forms the basis of their dishes. The à la carte menu is concise and clearly separated between starters, pastas and soups, fish and meat.
Starters include classic Spanish dishes of Iberian ham, garlic prawns and homemade codfish croquettes. Their specialty dish is the Sea Bass in Salt, which is for a minimum of two people. Steak tartare is another favourite, which they prepare before the client. There is an extensive wine list and a dessert buffet.
Celebrations of weddings, christenings, communions and other special events are welcomed at La Gritta. The interior of the restaurant has plenty of seating room, while the terrace area beside the pool is a great space for drinks and canapés, or alfresco dining, while guests soak up the views.
Much in demand is their private balcony. It can be set up for an intimate group of four, or for two couples. The stunning vistas of the sea and Es Malgrat islet, provide an idyllic backdrop for anyone wanting to pop an important question, or simply reignite the romance.
