About Playa de Magaluf
The southwest beach-side holiday resort town Magaluf has a fine-grain white sandy beach stretching just over 900 metres long. It is located in the municipality of Calviá, approximately 20 minutes from Palma. The water is a sparkling turquoise, generally calm, and is shallow for some distance which makes it comfortable for young swimmers. The islet in the heart of the bay, la Illa de sa Porrassa, is a nature reserve and the waters surrounding it are good for snorkelling.

This beach, which gets very busy in high season, has a number of facilities. There are sunbeds and tiki parasols for hire, showers, toilets and wheelchair access. Around the beach, separated by a pedestrian walkway, are dozens of beach clubs, bars and restaurants. Watersports are also allowed here and in summer expect jetskis and banana boats racing across the horizon. In winter, the beach is very quiet and on blustery days the sea becomes a paradise for windsurfers. Magaluf beach is highly popular with young British, German and Scandinavian visitors.
Access and Safety
Playa de Magaluf is accessed by car taking the exit 14 from the main MA-1 highway. There are options of pay and display and free street parking. The 107 and 104 bus route runs between Palma and Magaluf and takes approximately 50 minutes. There is wheelchair access at this beach, and lifeguards are on duty from May to October.
