The beauty of Mallorca is to feature in this year’s Oscars.
‘A Man Called Ove’ is a Swedish film nominated for Best Foreign Language Film in the 2017 89th Academy Awards.
The tale of an elderly man who loses his wife, the film showcases several places in Mallorca including Formentor, Sa Calobra and Son Armadams, all popping up during flashback scenes when the couple visit the island in the 1980’s.
Referred to as ‘the Oscar underdog’ by Vanity Fair magazine, A Man Called Ove is also a contender for the best hair and make up award, putting it against heavyweight movies Suicide Squad and Star Trek Beyond in this specialist category.
