The gastronomic scene on Mallorca has never been as exciting as it has been for the past couple of years. Not only does the island have nine restaurants with Michelin stars – including one with two stars – but there are also exciting new places that are re-setting benchmarks in terms of cuisine, service, and décor. Others have made positive changes to attract today’s more discerning diners. All of these factors are making Mallorca an increasingly appealing destination for foodies.

The Hottest Restaurants in Palma
Mallorca’s cosmopolitan capital city is a gastronomic hot-spot, including the one-Michelin-star restaurant Adrian Quetglas and a variety of cuisines and restaurant styles.
This attractive restaurant is within the 5-star Hotel Sant Francesc in Palma’s Old Town, opposite the Basilica Sant Francesc and its cloisters. Eat indoors in the elegant surroundings of this renovated mansion, or in the peaceful garden with its vertical wall of plants. Open daily for lunch and dinner, they offer an à la carte menu of tempting dishes, and an excellent ‘menú del día’. Quadrat’s setting, delicious Mediterranean cuisine, and friendly professional service ensure a memorable meal in this Palma hotspot.
Restaurante Adrián Quetglas
Adrian Quetglas used to be second chef to Marc Fosh at Reads on Mallorca, before moving to Moscow in a consultancy role. Over a decade Adrian became one of Russia’s top chefs, and still has three Spanish restaurants there. He also continues as the brand chef for the Russian company Ginza Projects, but has returned to Mallorca – where his eponymous and Michelin-starred (for 2017) restaurant opened in 2015 in Palma. Adrian Quetglas Restaurant serves haute cuisine at affordable prices and his lunch and dinner menus have impressed more than just the Michelin inspectors.

Marga Coll – who owns Miceli restaurant in Selva – is responsible for the culinary concept of Arrels restaurant at the Gran Melia de Mar in Illetas. Repsol awarded two of its coveted ‘Sol’s to the hideaway restaurant Bens d’Avall, which has been in the same family for more than 40 years. Come for the divine cuisine, attentive warm service, and spectacular views of northwest Mallorca’s mountainous coastline.
A ‘chiringuito’ or beach bar that punches above its weight, Ponderosa Beach is one of several eateries on the long sandy Playa de Muro, on the Bay of Alcúdia. Port de Sóller is the location of this restaurant, which offers excellent views across the horseshoe-shaped port.
