Could the marked jump in British enquiries for homes in Mallorca be in part due to the effect of a certain BBC drama? Engel & Völkers reported a triple-fold increase in July, and other agents are pointing to a similar scenario.
“There has been a significant increase in the number of UK buyers committing to buying post-Brexit and post-Night Manager,” says Stuart Jenkins, sales director at Balearic Properties. “We put La Fortaleza on our landing page during the programme’s second episode and had 30,000 hits in one evening.”
And where to get the La Fortaleza look beloved of Richard Roper – the arms-dealing super villain who made the fortress his home in the series? Rialto Living, who did the interior, complete with furnishings from quintessentially British brand Oka.
