About NURU Gallery & Lifestyle Store
Nuru Gallery & Lifestyle Store is located in the glamorous Puerto Portals marina. Its inaugural exhibition brings together contemporary works by Jordi Mollà, Domingo Zapata and Markus Tollman. The team behind the venture have already demonstrated their creativity at the world-class Mediterranean fusion Nuru Restaurant, in Santa Catalina.
Nuru’s CEO, Jürgen Smith, was introduced to Jordi Mollà by Eva Longoria in 2010, and bought his first painting at a charity auction in Port Adriano. After becoming firm friends, the restaurant’s two storey building in Palma, which is run by the three sons of Jürgen Smith, was decorated with Mollà’s art.
The Barcelona born artist, Jordi Mollà, has plenty of outlets for his abundant creativity. He is also an actor, director, screenwriter and author. Among the celebrity collectors of his work is Johnny Depp, who he starred opposite in the critically acclaimed film ‘Blow’. His pop art style pieces are bold and colourful; appearing spontaneous and yet often taking years to complete.
Domingo Zapata shares Mollà’s pursuit of a highly creative life. The Mallorcan artist, fashion designer and author, will be exhibiting his infamous Panda Series at the gallery. Alongside the Spanish artists, are German painter, Markus Tollman and German landscape photographer, Jörg Wanderer. The gallery will showcase four large works by Wanderer, including two shot taken in Palma and a further two from his world travels.
The gallery is dedicated to sourcing exclusive, cutting-edge art from internationally-acclaimed and emerging artists. It will be a constantly evolving space, which inspires both serious collectors and passersby with its arresting wall art and sculptures.
Exhibitions are set to change every two months. Enjoying a privileged position alongside Puerto Portals’ shimmering yacht-filled marina – surrounded by designer boutiques and fine dining restaurants – Nuru Gallery & Lifestyle store is an attractive proposition as part of a morning or evening trip to this part of the island.
