About Palacio Can Marques
The residence of the Marques family for decades, the Palacio Can Marques opened in 2018 to immediately join the ranks of some of the finest luxury hotels in Palma. Many years of careful renovation work has ensured that the beauty of this spectacular 18th-century palazzo has been maintained, with its conversion to a five-star hotel never compromising the aesthetic integrity of the historic mansion.
Located in the La Lonja neighbourhood also makes for surrounds that are equally historic and picturesque, as well as within easy reach of all the capital’s attractions.
Suites and services
The boutique hotel has just 13 suites, each individually styled and designed to evoke the warmth and intimacy of the private residence it once was. Original features include lovingly restored ornate fireplaces and carved wooden panelling, while these are complemented with the likes of reconditioned vintage furnishings, sensual velvet seating, and unique paintings and sculptures. Trios of suites can also be combined with communal living rooms for groups.
Guests can expect top-level service, starting with a limousine pick up from the airport through to the opportunity for private excursions on a 108-foot sailing super yacht. A rooftop terrace offers views out to the cathedral, while lovely secluded garden provides the perfect oasis to enjoy an evening drink.
Top-class French dining
Guests don’t have to travel far to enjoy some outstanding dining, with the Restaurant Can Marques offering an excellent menu of classic French cooking (by Belgian chef Cédric Lebon). This bistro-style restaurant enjoys an atmospheric setting under a centuries-old vaulted ceiling, and offers an impressive quality-to-cost ratio on its refined French cuisine. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner, plus there’s a cocktail bar for an aperitif or post-dinner tipple.
