In Palma, this spring, everything is once again about the nautical sector with the return of the 7th Annual Palma Superyacht Show.
The event was created by the Balearic Yacht Broker Association (BYBA), which consists of half-a-dozen entrepreneurs who specialise in sales and the charter of multi-million-dollar boats. The Worldwide Yachting Association (MYBA) also came on board and has been supporting the interests of brokers and charter companies for luxury yachts for more than 30 years all around the globe. Today, it’s the driving force of the whole boat show and at the same time, it indicates the continuous boom of the nautical sector on the island.
The nautical industry is the most important source of income for the Balearics after tourism. According to the regional government, this sector harvests more than 400 million euros each year. Particularly in the areas of refit and maintenance of yachts, Mallorca is one of the leading destinations worldwide and six out of ten of the worldwide biggest yacht-broker and charter companies are located on the island demonstrating the significance of Mallorca as a hotspot within in the international nautical sector.
What to expect
More than 40,000 visitors are expected at the old pier – Moll Vell – in front of La Lonja, to learn about the latest offers, trends, and developments related to the topic of boats and yachts. The event will be showcasing over 80 yachts of 24 metres or above for sale or charter and 85 exhibitors that provide necessary to services to the yachting community. There is also a refit and refurb area for the boats.
The Palma Superyacht Show runs alongside the longstanding Palma Boat Show which is this year celebrating its 36th year. The event caters to the larger boats of over 24 metres and provides plenty of networking opportunities for people in the industry.
