There was good news for Mallorca at the 2016 World Travel Market. Held in London, the annual fair was attended by the mayor of Palma, José Hila, whose aim was to promote the city as a winter break destination.
Talks were held with various airlines including Jet2, which has already significantly increased low season flights and is currently working with the town hall to market Palma weekend packages.
The Palacio de Congresos also featured heavily at the event, with a strong proposal put forward to stage the Institute of Travel & Tourism’s 2018 conference at the convention centre, scheduled to be officially opened in March 2017.
