About Playa de Porto Cristo
Playa de Porto Cristo is the main beach of the former fisherman’s village called Porto Cristo, on the east coast of Mallorca, about 15 km from the inland town of Manacor. This is the heart of beach country Mallorca, with other resorts such as Cala Romantica, Cala Varques and Cala Murada, among others, all within a 10-20 minute drive. Portocolom is south of here, about 20-minutes by car. Playa de Porto Cristo is a nice sized, white sand beach about 350-metres long, that is surrounded by the village and off to sides is backed by steep cliffs. The Porto Cristo marina is right next to the beach. The water is calm and clear and ideal for families and small children.
It is a popular holiday destination particularly among Germans and French families, but locals but also appreciate the convenience and amenities. You can rent umbrellas and lounge chairs but there is limited water sports activities except paddle boats. There is a pontoon with a slide out in the water as well. There are changing facilities, showers and toilets onsite and there are plenty of restaurants and shops along the boardwalk with easy family fare such as pizza, paellas and burgers, as well as a beach bar selling basic refreshments.
