Pomod’Oro is an authentic, family-run Italian restaurant and pizzeria located at the quieter end of central Palma’s Carrer de Sant Miquel, just around the corner from the buzzing Plaça d’Espanya.
The restaurant allows diners to immerse themselves in the traditional flavours of Italian cooking, but with the occasional modern and innovative flourish. Interiors are cosy and welcoming, with wooden floors, a warm colour palette and low lighting, plus there’s a street-front terrace for alfresco dining.
Traditional Italian cuisine
The restaurant has an a la carte menu offering wide range of typical Italian cuisine, from delicious thin crust pizza to homemade pastas, raviolis and risottos, as well as top quality meat and fish dishes.
Highlights include the likes of Ravioli filled with ricotta and mixed mushrooms in parmesan sauce with the essence of white truffle, Calamarata “ai frutti di mare” with baked baby squid, and Tuna Tataki in pistachio crust. Dishes are always beautifully presented, and there are plenty of vegetarian options too.
The menu regularly changes to offer the freshest seasonal produce, while always keeping the star dishes. Pomod’Oro also offers a varied ‘menu del día‘ complete with a choice of two starters, main courses, desserts, homemade bread, and water. Perfect for special occasions, good-value tasting menus include five dishes and dessert.
Italian family owned
Formerly behind the Bukaro Ristorante Italiano, Antonietta Carrozzo and Angelo Sorge are the chefs of Pomod’Oro and come from a family of restaurateurs. Even more so with Antonietta’s brother Antonio Carrozzo as the owner as well! Coming from Puglia in Italy to live in Mallorca almost 20 years ago, they are passionate about the cuisine of their homeland, and sharing his culture through their food.
